    Feldenkrais® Method

    From the practice of Self- Awareness through Movement® developed by the Feldenkrais® Method, a laboratory is generated for the Investigation of Movement in which we return to basic movements for the development of the human motor, as well as for the exploration of a specific tone muscle that allows for the decrease of efforts and the integration of the the musculoskeletal system.

    Class is a contemporary fusion of African diasporic aesthetics and modern dance techniques. It is a full-body movement class incorporating isolation/undulations, contract/ release techniques, polyrhythmic movement dynamics, and musicality. Experience this cultural explosion featuring choreography rooted in African diaspora movements including African, afro-Brazilian, Haitian, Caribbean, and African American-based movements.

    A contemporary dance class experience at the intersection of personal narrative and the body as a collective. Through dance, students will tune into themselves exploring innate postures, natural patterns, and spaces of limitation and possibility. We will use movement as a tool for visioning a future of empowered, joyful, and peaceful bodies, as individuals and on a global scale. The class includes floorwork, breathwork, sound, and traditional dance class progressions and phrase work.

    By the end of a session, one's entire system has been awakened, and brought into greater balance. Focus on the breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in a sense of calm, wellbeing, and mental clarity. The GYROKINESIS® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath, and mental focus.

    If possible, students can bring yoga mats.

    Class explores innate corporal mobility, creating internal and external reactions with one's own body and others, to inhabit states of relaxation and agitation for the construction of one collective dance.

    If you’re in need of a confidence boost, this Waacking class will be teaching intricate arm movements, techniques to boost self-esteem, and learn poses. Waacking is a dance style that was created in the gay dance clubs of Los Angeles in the 70s and focuses on funky arm movements, poses, confidence, and is often danced to disco music. Open to all demographics and all levels.

    This class is designed to cover the fundamentals of burlesque technique and boa work for beginners or seasoned performers looking for a little extra sparkle. You'll learn to shimmy, bump and grind, and tease the audience.

    This workshop involves grounding into the earth, diving into our senses and cultivating the capacity to move from the inside-out. We will discuss and experience the elements that surround us and move within us and how they influence the way we move in space. We experiment with weight shifting and musicality and organic movement styles. The most powerful way to affect change in our communities is to feel present and empowered in our own bodies!
